Sports Leaders
Our Sports Leadership Programmes offer young people the opportunity to gain qualifications and experience.

Sports Leadership Academy

Our Sports Leadership Academy offers an extensive leadership and volunteering programme for pupils in S3 and above. This programme takes place throughout one week of the school calendar allowing pupils to participate in courses such as child protection, NGB Level 1 courses that are sport specific, team building as well as developing intra-personal skills. Pupils are asked to use what they have learnt and give back to their school or community setting by volunteering 10 hours, which also provides more practical experiences to learn from.

Volunteering

If you are a young person interested in volunteering, we will have opportunities for you to gain experience and qualifications.  Please get in touch with your Active Schools Co-ordinator to note your interest.

Work Experience

We know how important it is for our young people to get experience in the world of work as they chose their path in life. Active Schools can provide work experience placements for young people and students that attends a school or Further and Higher Education.  Please complete this online from if you are interested.  Online form???

Young Ambassadors

Active Schools provides a brilliant opportunity for some real grass roots development experience within school. Each academic year we recruit up to two new sports enthusiasts to join our Young Ambassador team and provide sporting opportunities to the Dundee.

Young Ambassador Programme- COVID 19 Support

The Active Schools team are still here to support you while on your leadership journey through physical activity and sport. Our coordinators will connect with you both virtually and in person, to discuss how you are getting on in your role and your next aims and objectives.

A city-wide group created in Microsoft Teams will allow all young people on the programme to network with one another and collaborate with ideas.
