Dundee Bairns and Dundee Active Schools were delighted to welcome representatives from Dundee Roadrunners to Dundee Bairns HQ to accept a generous £465 donation. The funds were raised at a quiz night held at The Fort in Broughty Ferry and will support the Active Schools Kit for All project, which provides free, pre‑loved sports kit to children and families, helping remove financial barriers and enabling everyone to take part in sport and physical activity.
The initiative is run by Active Schools in partnership with Dundee Bairns, a local charity dedicated to supporting children and families in Dundee through projects which promote equality and wellbeing.
Michael Mitchell, Chair of Dundee Roadrunners said
“We hope our donation to the Kit For All project allows kids in the Dundee area the opportunity to take part and enjoy sports activities, and the potential maybe one day to realise their dreams.”
Jane O’Donnell, Active Schools Coordinator said
“As a member of Dundee Road Runners and one of the Active Schools Team, Michael approached me to see where best to donate the money from the quiz night that would benefit Dundee children and sport. I immediately thought of Dundee Bairns and the amazing work they do for families in Dundee, in particular I thought the Kit for all project would be a perfect use for this generous donation.”
Dee Pearce, Business Manager at Dundee Bairns said
“Dundee Bairns is delighted to be involved with the Kit For All Project. Thanks to Dundee Roadrunners for their wonderful donation.”
Active Schools help children and young people feel healthy, happy and confident through the provision of fun and fulfilling sports clubs, competitions, leadership programmes and holiday camps.
