Pupils took part in a variety of sport activities such as Hockey, Ultimate Frisbee, Cricket, Rugby, Dance, Fitness, Basketball, Futsal, Netball and Badminton. All activities on offer are all clubs which the pupils can participate in during lunchtime and after school. The sports fayre allowed the pupils to collect consent forms to attend the clubs as well as meet the coaches running the extra curricular sessions.
Morgan Academys Young Ambassadors were on hand throughout the afternoon to support coaches with the activities, supervise the transition between sessions and answer any questions the pupils had regarding clubs going on in the school. The Young Ambassadors recently attended a conference in Perth and are currently creating an action plan for the whole school year. Two represantives have been asked to sit on the Young Persons Sports Panel for the Year of Young People 2018 supported by Young Scot.
Active Schools are proud to work with so many partners across Dundee and would like to thank Dundee Wanderers Hockey Club, Leisure and Culture SFA, Cricket Scotland and Dundee and Angus College for providing coaches and their ongoing support with clubs.
All clubs are up and running in Morgan and they are already planning for their senior sports afternoon on the 6th of October and will be supporting the national strategy Active Girls Day with a dance performance from the dance club with members from all houses.
